Aboriginal Education

At Risdon Park Primary School, we are proud to learn on Nukunu Country and acknowledge the Nukunu people as the Traditional Custodians of the land.

We respect their ongoing connection to land, culture and community.

We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all areas of learning. We value and respect the histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples and strive to create a culturally inclusive environment for all students.

Our Aboriginal Education Team works closely with students, families and staff to support engagement, wellbeing and success at school. We are proud to support our Aboriginal students to feel a strong sense of identity, belonging and connection to culture.

Students have opportunities to participate in leadership roles, cultural learning experiences and whole-school events such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.

We are committed to building understanding and respect across our school community, ensuring all students develop an appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
