Literacy Block

Our daily Literacy Block is systematic and structured, grounded in the Science of Reading.

Key components include:

- Phonemic Awareness / Heggerty activities,
- Daily review of concepts,
- Explicit teaching of phonics and spelling using the Department for Education Scope & Sequence,
- Guided and independent reading practice with additional SSO support,
- Novel studies with high-quality texts,
- Daily writing instruction, and
- Regular progress monitoring to provide tailored support and challenge for every learner.

Mathematics Block

Mathematics is taught through a daily, structured block featuring:

- Daily review of previous concepts,
- Explicit teaching of mathematical concepts,
- The use of concrete, visual, and abstract materials in every lesson, and
- Authentic opportunities for strategic problem-solving and reasoning.

Students are supported and challenged at their level, ensuring growth, success, and a love of learning.

Other Curriculum Areas

We provide a broad and engaging curriculum including Science, The Arts, Technologies, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Languages – Nukunu Language. Through these learning experiences, students develop curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
